Plaque in remembrance of victims of Louth Flood which reads - This plaque was erected by the Louth Museum following generous public donations to mark the centenary of the Louth Flood of 29 May 1920. It is dedicated to the memory of the 23 people who died, some here and others further downstream, and the many who lost family, friends, homes and livelihoods in this tragic event.

Unveiling of Louth Flood Plaque

The Mayor of Louth, Councillor Darren Hobson unveils the plaque dedicated to those who not only lost their lives in the Flood in 1920, but whose lost family, friends, homes and their livelihoods. Anita Muchall (Louth Museum) tells of the significance of the rosemary bush also planted (often used on coffins at that time) and Jessica Mackett (Spout Yard Park) explains how Spout Yard was central to the devastation caused by the flood.
