Judging has now taken place for the Town Council’s Lovely Louth 2022 floral competition and the organisers were delighted with the quality of the entries. Entries were judged by members of the Floral Working Group.
Winners and runner ups were as follows:
Class 1 Shops and Business Premises – Display of tubs, hanging baskets, window boxes etc. Must be viewable by the public at any time.
Winner – Lakings Ltd, 33 Eastgate
Runner Up – Clark’s Shoes, 126-130 Eastgate
Class 2 Licensed Premises – Arrangement of plants and flowers, including window boxes, hanging baskets, tubs and flower borders. Must be viewable by the public.
Winner – Ye Olde Whyte Swanne, 45 Eastgate
Runner Up – Cobbles, New Street
Class 3 Private Houses – Frontage display of tubs, hanging baskets, window boxes etc.
Winner – 5 Southlands Avenue, Louth
Runner Up – Field House, 3 Kenwick Pastures
Class 4 Private Houses – Gardens visible from the road.
Winner – 25, 25b Shared Courtyard, Gospelgate
Runner Up – 13 Kenwick Road
Class 5 Open Category – Gardens and planting viewable by the public.
Winner – Brook House, 65 James Street
Runner Up – The Bede House, Gospelgate
OVERALL WINNER – 25, 25b Shared Courtyard, Gospelgate
The Mayor of Louth will be presenting the awards to winners and runner ups later in September, but we encourage residents and visitors to Louth to look around and enjoy some of the wonderful floral displays on show this summer.
