The Mayor of Louth, Councillor Darren Hobson was delighted to present the awards last week for the Town Council’s Lovely Louth 2021 floral competition. Organisers were delighted with the quality of the entries which were judged by members of the Floral Working Group and the Mayor of Louth.
Winners and runner ups were as follows:
Class 2 Licensed Premises – Arrangement of plants and flowers, including window boxes, hanging baskets, tubs and flower borders. Must be viewable by the public.
WINNER – Cobbles Bar, New Street – also awarded ‘Best in Show’
Runner Up – Ye Olde Whyte Swanne, Eastgate
Runner Up – Turk’s Head – Aswell Street
Runner Up – King’s Head – Mercer Row
Class 3 Private Houses – Frontage display of tubs, hanging baskets, window boxes etc.
WINNER – Jan Radford, Blossom Cottage, 11 Edward Street
Runner Up – Maurice Foxon, Field House, 3 Kenwick Pastures
Runner Up – Margaret Neal, 8 Kiln Lane Court
Class 4 Private Houses – Gardens visible from the road.
WINNER – Harry Kerman, 7 Beck Way
Runner Up – Andrew Smith, 46 Monk’s Dyke Road
Runner Up – Sue Wilkinson and Mike Hobden, 13 Kenwick Road
Class 6 Open Category – Perennial Planting viewable by the public to encourage sustainability.
WINNER – Susan Bortolot at 201 Eastgate
