JULIA MARY SIMMONS

Mayor of Louth

May 2023 to December 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of a lovely friend,
colleague and the Mayor, Julia Simmons, who passed away in the early
hours of this morning, at home, following a 6 month battle with cancer.

Julia was well known throughout the town as a good and kind friend.
With her background in nursing and show business, her caring nature
and ever-present love of life she was a wonderful person to spend time
with.  She was a talented actress and comedienne, who had a very
varied life, moving to London after gaining a scholarship to study
Arts at one of the most prestigious schools, Arts Ed.  After graduating
with a degree in Musical Theatre she went straight into show business
as a dancer/actress/singer and choreographer.

More recently, she was a valued Councillor who was elected to
serve on Louth Town Council in 2019 and who served as Mayor in
2023/24 and continued into 2024/25.

She was passionate about the town – past, present and future.

Julia will be so very sadly missed by a great many people.
Her passing leaves a big hole in the lives of those she leaves behind.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Alan, her loving husband
and Consort and her family at this distressing time.
