CHRISTMAS LIGHTS SWITCH ON 2012

Louth's Christmas Lights are on! The ceremony was performed on Sunday 2nd December 2012 at Louth's Christmas Market and was supported by a selection of brilliantly enthusiastic children from local schools singing festive songs and carols.  The lights have this year been slightly revamped by the Town Council with help from the Town Partnership, as a programme of replacement has commenced seeing some of the older strings being changed.   Newer strings, costing in the region of £4,000 have primarily been placed in the market area, this being a central hub of the town, with other replacements to be looked at in the future.

Above: The Mayor, Councillor Mrs. Jill Makinson-Sanders, ably assisted by her Son, John and her granddaughter, Florence turn the lights on amid cheers and applause and the Christmas Tree in all its glory.
